Just like Google Chrome’s easter egg offline game, Microsoft has also launched a new offline surfing game for its chromium-based Edge browser. The game was showcased alongside the launch of the new Edge browser logo last year. The game was earlier available only for insider users for a while and now the company has finally released it with the build (83.0.478.37) update.
The game is based on Microsoft’s classic SkiFree game which was launched back in 1991 as part of the company’s Entertainment Pack 3 for Windows. As the name suggests, it is an endless surfing game where players need to surf through the water while avoiding islands and dodging krakens and collect hearts and boosts to increase their health and speed.
The game features three game modes — Endless mode, Time trial mode and Zig zag mode.
Endless mode is pretty simple where players can surf as far as they can while avoiding obstacles. In Time trial mode, players need to reach to the end as soon as possible while collecting coins on the way. The Zig zag mode, however, is the most complicated among the three as in this mode players are supposed to cross each and every gate to keep playing until life runs out.
Microsoft has also confirmed that the game supports keyboard, mouse, touch and gamepads including Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro and Xbox Adaptive controller and the setup instructions for each controller can be found under the game settings.
