Asus is rumoured to be working on the successor of its gaming smartphone — ROG Phone 2 and the rumour mill has been abuzz with the leaks and rumours about the upcoming gaming smartphone from the company. Likely to be called ROG Phone 3, the smartphone has been spotted by XDA Developers on TENAA listing that reveals the design and specifications of the smartphone.
For starters, the upcoming smartphone is expected to feature an almost identical design to ROG Phone 2. However, TENAA listing reveals that it will feature an overclocked Snapdragon 865 processor with prime core clocked at 3.091GHz compared to the 2.98GHz. Also, the list does not signify which CPU or GPU cores will be overclocked. In addition to this, the phone is expected to get 16GB RAM.
The alleged ROG Phone 3 is expected to come with up to 512GB RAM. It will also come with a 6000mAh battery similar to ROG Phone 2. In terms of display, the smartphone will retain the same 6.59-inch AMOLED panel FHD display. Although the listing does not mention the refresh rate, we can expect to see at least 120HZ or above with the upcoming phone.
Another noticeable change is the addition of the third camera at the back. The ROG Phone 2 has only dual rear camera, however, the ROG Phone 3 is reportedly getting the third camera as well.
The ROG Phone 3, as per the listing page is expected to weigh around 240g which as per modern standards is considered to be heavy and bulky. In addition to this, the upcoming gaming phone is also expected to come without the headphone jack.
